Aspect Family Learning & Support is available to families in regional, rural and remote areas across Australia.
How can Aspect Family Learning & Support help?
Our early intervention specialists can help you:

Create an individual education plan (IEP) for your child

Identify your child's current strengths and areas to focus on in terms of development

Identify skills to target and prioritise them

Provide you with information about different approaches to intervention

Help you choose a method most suited to you and your child

Provide you with activities rooted in the chosen approach

Help you to plan activities as part of an intervention program

Help you to identify opportunities for learning

Help you include everyday objects and activities as part of your everyday routine

Assist you to understand challenging behaviour and offer you positive strategies to help deal with it
Parents and team members can access the following services:
Workshops/Information Sessions
Workshops are provided to families, carers and service providers. This enables parents to discuss the progress they are making with activities outlined in their child's IEP (individual education plan). The workshops also provide parents with the chance to share their ideas and experiences.
Practical Support
Parents can be assisted to develop a range of practical tools including:

Phone and email Consultations
Families and professionals they have hominated as team members can access regular support and guidance via telephone and email. The Aspect Support Service can provide advice about how to identify targets, work through activities and chart progress. They can also provide technical guidance in relation to the AutismPro TM software.
Face to Face Consulations
Face to face meetings are available. The team is able to travel to meet families in their homes or pre-arranged locations depending upon resources. Consultations can also take place at the Aspect Central Office in Sydney (Frenchs Forest).
Visits to Pre-Schools and Community Settings
Visits to educational settings are also available. A visit may include making observations, discussing the targets outlined in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) or providing training to nominated team members (eg. the child's teacher, occupational therapist etc).
Webinars and Online Training
Families have access to continuous specialist knowledge through webinars and online training. Each program will target a range of objectives including motor skills, behaviour and communication.
Resource Development
Aspect Support Staff can provide families with increased access to resources and information such as useful websites, Aspect events and skills sheets.
Video Conferencing
Video conferencing enables The Aspect Support Service to observe a child remotely and provide strategies and supports. This is particularly useful to families living in regional, rural and remote areas.
